Prime Minister Honors Ethiopian Ambassador H.E. Tsegaye

Djibouti, On Thursday, April 17, 2025 – The Prime Minister of the Republic of Djibouti, His Excellency Mr. Abdoulkader Kamil Mohamed, awarded the rank of Officer in the National Order of June 27 to His Excellency Mr. Berhanu Tsegaye, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Federal Democratic Republic of Ethiopia, during a ceremony held in the Hall of Honor at the Prime Minister’s Office. The decoration marks the conclusion of Ambassador Tsegaye’s diplomatic mission in Djibouti, which began in August 2020.

This high distinction is a tribute to Ambassador Tsegaye’s unwavering commitment, professionalism, and constructive vision throughout his tenure, which significantly contributed to strengthening the bonds of friendship and cooperation between Djibouti and the sister nation of Ethiopia.

Speaking on behalf of the Government and the people of Djibouti, the Prime Minister praised the ambassador’s dedicated service and extended his warmest wishes for success in his new role as Minister of State for Foreign Affairs of the Federal Democratic Republic of Ethiopia.

The ceremony also served as an opportunity to reaffirm Djibouti’s deep commitment to consolidating a strategic, fraternal, and mutually beneficial partnership with Ethiopia.

In attendance at the ceremony were the Secretary-General of the Prime Minister’s Office, Mr. Naguib Abdallah Mohamed, the Chief of staff, Mr. Ali Sillaye Abdallah, as well as a representative of the Ethiopian chancery.
